Posted on 2020 Jul,20

As the world prepares for the upcoming launch of the UAE’S Mars Mission Hope probe, TikTok’s community of creators will unite on the platform to celebrate the making of history.

As the first probe to provide a complete picture of the Martian atmosphere and its layers when it reaches Mars’ orbit in 2021, the UAE Mars Hope probe is expected to help inform the world on previously unanswered questions about the planet. Overseen and implemented by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre and the UAE Space Agency, the mission will make history when it launches from the Tanegashima Space Centre in Japan, later this week.

TikTok, the leading destination for short-form mobile video is set to launch its #HopeMarsMission hashtag challenge tomorrow and is  calling on people in the UAE (and beyond) to express their love for the history-making mission and share what it personally means to them, through unique content. From intergalactic-themed fashion statements to Mars-inspired artworks, the TikTok community is invited to take their creativity to astronomical new heights.

A specially created, space-themed sticker called ‘Spaceman’, will also be available for international users on the platform to simulate being in space to celebrate the UAE’s pioneering mission.

To further promote this seminal event, celebrities including Raya Abi Rached, Balqees Fathi, and content creator Sarah Milad have participated in sharing their best wishes for UAE’s Hope Mars Mission. TikTok users can also tune into the platform, where educational creators will share insightful information about Mars and the Galaxy. Users can also use the customized sticker alongside the #HopeMarsMission challenge to take part of the journey of being in space.
