Argentinian director and cinematographer Dario Sabina has relocated to Dubai to work with film and content production company Baroque Film.

The director, who merges storytelling, beauty and comedy within his body of work, will be working alongside Lorenzo Bassano, the head of Baroque Film, and Ali Mansoor, the co-founder and chief executive of parent company Baroque Worldwide.

Sabina has directed commercials for clients such as L’Oréal, Chevrolet, Fundación Telefónica and Goicoechea.

“I have a very cinematic visual style,” said Sabina, who also directed his own feature film, Mi Memoria Carmesí, in 2014. “Throughout my career I believe I have achieved a personal aesthetic and narrative skill that have helped me develop, write, direct and produce audiovisual pieces in different formats and budgets for clients across South America. Now I’m looking forward to bringing that cinematic style to play in Dubai.”

“As a cinematographer Sabina has a natural eye for beautiful imagery, while his work ethic and relentless studying of films and plays from all over the world have made him a great storyteller,” added Mansoor. “He also has a personal voice that has mastered a wide spectrum of genres and his personal work is bold, timeless and adventurous, as his feature film proved.”

Baroque Film launched in September this year following the acquisition of Milan-based Dress Code Film.
