After the Executive jury sessions, which took place in 10 capital cities, the Grand all-female jury have now chosen the final winners. Gerety Co Founder Lucía Ongay said, "I could not be prouder of the winners chosen by the jury; in total there were just 60 entries, which reached the required score to be awarded this year’s Gerety Awards. The highly acclaimed and respected Gerety Awards Jury and the winners they have chosen clearly sets the benchmark for the very highest standard of creativity.”

THE JURY

Gerety Jury member Angela Natividad, CCO and Co founder of Hurrah.gg said, “There were plenty of woman-oriented ads, but that’s just the ad industry right now. What better focus group than Gerety to distinguish truly empowering works from femvertising? I also think some agencies believed that, because the jury is all women, work targeting women would stand a better chance. Not so. The winning brands from this year’s Gerety Awards draw from a range of industries and persuasions and are a testament to the discernment of a diverse and qualitative jury.”

“Judging at the Gerety Awards was refreshing. It was a room filled with talented creative leaders that were genuinely just about making sure only extraordinary ideas rose to the top. The room was mostly on the same page on what was really great and what was really not. No politics to navigate,” noted Lixaida Lorenzo, GCD, David & Goliath, USA.

"Very few times in life you get the opportunity to be a part of real change. Gerety Awards is more than a show. It's a statement. It's a step. The first all-women jury for an advertising show. I feel lucky I could sit in that room. If I had to talk about the work I saw and the work that stayed with me, the number one piece was Viva La Vulva. It hit my heart as a writer and as a woman. The love in the idea and the execution, makes it rise above many other greats. When I am voting a piece for a Grand Prix, in my mind it has to be something that pushes the profession ahead. Creative people should be pulling it out as an example for their teams and clients. It is the kind of work that even competition agencies can't help admiring," commented Kainaz Karmakar, Chief Creative Officer - Ogilvy India (West)

“The Gerety Awards in spearheading this announces an all new way in which creative work is perceived. Judging work with women across the table is a whole new learning experience. The entire experience was fun, insightful with a nuanced discussion. And yes we all fell in love with advertising all over again,” said Tista, Regional Creative Director, Wunderman Thompson South Asia, India.

The trophy created by artists Carla Bossi and Francesc Fusté from Txt Arte in Barcelona is a unique original prize that was given to the winners. Bossi explained: “As sculptors and set designers, we always wanted to create a trophy that would honour its winners but also become an art work that would be with them in their everyday lives. The offer from Gerety was a challenge, so many things have been already done. Diamonds, ideas, search, burn, obstacles, imagination and hard work. Creativity is hard work. You have to chew, crush, be brave and not be afraid of being hurt. That is what Fire trophy represents, the original flames, where carbon burns for a diamond to be born. The fire, restless flames of creatives searching for originality, essentialism”.
