electriclimefilms finalists at AD STARS 2020

electriclimefilms, the boutique film production house with offices in Singapore, Dubai and Sydney, has announced that two of its recent film productions are finalists at AD STARS 2020: DubaiStore's 'Lie Detector' campaign produced in collaboration with Merkle MENA, and Snickers' 'Hunger Support' created in collaboration with IMPACT BBDO.

Snickers ‘Hunger Support’ campaign was nominated as a finalist in three separate categories: Media, Creative eCommerce, and Data Insights.
Directed by Damiano Fieramosca, exclusively represented by electriclimefilms, with DOP Elias Trad and the support of the Dubai Production team. The campaign includes two brand films played upon Snickers’ famous motto regarding personality issues when hunger strikes. The films served as a portrayal of everyday's heroes in a dramatic confession about their hunger crisis while the Snickers bar is the “great man” of each character’s confessions, acting as their remedy and savior.

DubaiStore's ‘Lie Detector’ was nominated as a finalist for Creative eCommerce. The brand film was directed and DOP’d by Australian Director Harry Scott with the support of electricmefilms Dubai Production team as well. The campaign promoted a brand new e-commerce marketplace, from the UAE Ministry of Economy, by inviting real employees from merchants on the platform to be tested by a lie detector.
The aim was to demonstrate that consumers can shop with trust.

From 20,028 entries from 60 countries, Ad Stars has selected 1,651 finalists to compete in this year's competition. It is worth noting that there were 153 finalists from the United Arab Emirates alone (Impact BBDO: 70 finalists; McCann Worldgroup MENA: 29 finalists; Wunderman Thompson: 18 finalists Geometry MENA: 15 finalists; The Classic Partnership Advertising: 7 finalists).
All the shortlisted entries are now in the running to win two Grand Prix of the Year trophies and a cheque for US$10,000. Winners will be announced online on 7 September 2020.
