Alain Shoucair: Orchestrating Novelty
Posted on 2016 Oct,13

Driven by the next big idea, Alain Shoucair, regional executive creative director at Drive Dentsu simply never stops. He is a man of true conviction who could have easily become a maestro rather than a creative ad man. What follows is a glimpse into a world filled with joy and wonder.

What gets you up in the morning?
‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ ringtone.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
The power of ideas.

Who do you ultimately want to become?
I’m happy being myself.

What is your greatest extravagance?
I’m an impulsive buyer.

What’s your motto in life?
Stay true to yourself.

I’m loving it.

What keeps you up at night?
My brain.

What inspires you most?

My smartphone.

What can we find on your phone?

What quality do you most look up to in a woman?

A woman.

What’s the last book you read or movie you saw?
I’ve recently discovered there was a conclusion to the epic mythology ‘L’incal’ created in the early 80’s by visionary storyteller Jodorowski and the late Moebius. I was delighted by Ladrönn’s breathtaking graphic style as well as his addition of a little touch of humour to the main character John DiffooI. It’s not easy to appropriate Moebius world and I think he brilliantly succeeded.

What is the one thing you wish you have designed?

Who Are You?

I am... what I am.

I like… wit.

I want... peace.

I have... everything I need, thank God.

I wish... we were born with a life instruction manual, it would save us a lot of time.

I hate... hypocrisy and mediocre people.

I fear... sickness.

I Google... everything and anything.

I wonder... how people can be so stupid sometimes.

I regret... nothing.

I love... music.

I need... more time to play.

If I ruled the world... “wowowewo, it’s very nice!”

I dream… non-stop.
