The second edition of the Luum Awards, the global festival that exclusively awards the best social and environmental campaigns, will be held on November 4 at the Hilton Convention Center in Geneva (Switzerland).

Luum Awards is launching this year with a new format where only gold is delivered and where the registration of cases is free.

Communication agencies, advertisers and NGOs can participate in Luum by uploading up to 4 cases without paying any registration fees.

In addition to its free registration format, the festival stands out for only recognizing first place finishes in each subcategory. That is to say, Luum only hands out Gold medals, there are no second or third place finishes.

Last year, Luum Awards managed to integrate a high-impact jury from the UN, Khofi Annan Foundation, UN Women, among others, with prominent advertising professionals such as Natasha Wooderson, Head of Internal Communications, Diversity & Inclusion, ANJ (The Kraft Heinz Company), Lauren Haberfield, Executive Creative Director (Edelman), Björn Bremer, Chief Executive & Creative Officer (Ogilvy), among others.

In the past edition, many of the most impactful campaigns and the most awarded in 2021 in various competitions, took home gold medals from this festival, which sought to award the year’s best ideas for promoting social and environmental issues.

Winners such as ALMA DDB (USA), Bruketa &Zinic &Grey (Croatia), Isobar Dentsu – Achtung (UK + Kenya), Edelman (UK), El Taier DDB - Centro, Havas Health & You (Brazil), M&C Saatchi (Indonesia), McCan Health (China), Mindshare (Spain), Sajo McCann (USA), TAXI VML&R (Canada), Cossette (Canada), VML&R (Colombia), M&C Saatchi (United Arab Emirates), among others, were selected for gold medals awarded by judges such as Genna Ingold (Kofi Annan Foundation), Natasha Wooderson (Head of Internal Communications, Diversity & Inclusion The Kraft Heinz Company), Laura Durán (Amnesty International); Anna Zhukovskaya (Isobar), Simon Roberts (Ogilvy Health), Joe Godsell (TBWA Australia), Aimee Nsimire, Communications Official (ILO / UN International Labour Organization); Sabrina Espeche (Red Cross); Itziar Badia, Director of Marketing and Digital Training (WWF), along with 74 other international judges.

Participants will be able to upload their cases for the festival’s 8 categories and respective subcategories:

1. Essence of the Message (Awards the positive essence of the message: brand stories that, in addition to their commercial intent, seek to raise awareness of issues such as empowerment, equity, family, and other human values needed for a more positive society);

2. Human Rights;

3. Environment;

4. Communication for public entities and NGOs;

5. Eco-friendly and social design;

6. Causes;

The panel of judges is mainly composed of talented advertising and marketing professionals from the 5 continents; but professionals from well-known associations, communities and governmental and non-governmental entities also participate. Luum ensures a gender balance: 50% of the judges are men and 50% of the judges are women.

This is an award that gives creatives the opportunity to prove that they are agents of change and are capable of much more than just great ideas for companies and advertisers.

The deadline for case registration and uploading closes on September 29, 2022.

The Award Ceremony is set for November 4, 2022.
