Jordanian YouTuber Ahmad Aburob crowned 'Middle Eastern Social Media Star’ at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards

Jordanian lifestyle YouTuber and content creator, Ahmad Aburob, has been voted by the Middle East public as Middle Eastern Social Media Star at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards.

The announcement came from E! who acquired the People’s Choice Awards and serves as the exclusive home of the popular annual award show that celebrates the best in pop culture. 

Between 26 October and 9 November 2022, E! asked fans worldwide to vote in 40 categories across TV, music, movies and pop culture. Now in its second year, Middle Eastern Social Media Star is the People's Choice Awards category dedicated to the region’s incredible social media stars and influencers.

The other nominees in the category this year were:

  • Amy Roko, Saudi Arabian comedian and beauty maven
  • Beki Ksouri – also known as Beki’s World – Tunisian adventure blogger and storyteller
  • Hadeel Marei, Egyptian comedian, beauty blogger and lifestyle influencer
  • Joe Hattab, Jordanian-born Saudi-raised travel vlogger
  • Natalia Ajnabiyeh, Greek Polish lifestyle content creator who was raised in Jordan
  • Ossy Marwah, Dubai-based lifestyle vlogger, YouTuber, and content creator
  • Raghda K, Jordanian-based Instagram star and blogger

Born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and raised in Amman, Jordan, 25-year-old Ahmad began his YouTube career back in 2018 and has since amassed over 15 million followers across his social media channels, becoming one of the most popular content creators and social media personalities in the region. With more than 500 videos across his channels, Ahmad is well-known for his diverse and comedic content, which is tailored well for people of all ages to enjoy.

On receiving his award, Ahmad said: “This is the very first time in my entire life that I have won something, and for it to be an award that is as prestigious and global as the People’s Choice Awards is truly an honour. This wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing followers, and my friends who kept pushing for me. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.”

Now in its 48th year, the People’s Choice Awards is the only major awards show voted on entirely by the public for fan favourites in movies, music, television, and pop culture. It was created in 1975 by Robert Stivers.  The People’s Choice Awards was previously owned by Procter & Gamble and produced by Mark Burnett airing on CBS.
